PSYCHOMOTOR INTERVENTION IN AQUATIC MEDIUM
From the child/youth, adult or elderly person with or without a diagnosis, Psychomotricity in the aquatic environment offers a differentiated and potentiating response.
PRESENTATION
Psychomotricity (PM) appears as the science that focuses on the study of man, through his body in movement and the relationship with his internal and external world, as well as his possibilities of perceiving, acting, acting with the other, with objects and with yourself. Given this definition, we can say that when transposing PM into water, all these components - body, movement, object - experience and test a set of bodily activities in this differentiating environment/context.
We know that the liquid environment is characterized by a set of laws and principles that alter and condition the individual's normal conduct, on which the Technician must be equipped with knowledge for an optimal intervention in this context.
The aquatic environment appears as a field of psychomotor action, in the educational, preventive and therapeutic scope, in which the body is the main element of relationship, communication, performance, adequacy and intentionality, in a playful and/or rehabilitating practice.
Therefore, psychomotor intervention offers numerous possibilities, assuming itself as a structural basis for other activities that take place in the aquatic environment, whether in terms of adaptation to the aquatic environment, or in preparation for formal learning of swimming techniques or even others water activities.
